Inspired By The Navy SEALs, Panerai Unveils Five Next-Generation Watches, Including An “Xperience” Version

It was just over a year ago, in September 2022 that Panerai announced its special partnership with the Navy SEALs and released its first watches inspired by the Elite Military Force, the United States Navy Sea, Air and Land Teams. At that point, the brand released three Submersible watches under the Special Operations Xperience effort. Now, the brand expands its Navy SEALs collection – unveiling two more Submersibles and three Luminor watches inspired by the Seals.

In fact, Panerai has a long and storied past of creating watches for the U.S. Navy that dates back to 1953—with this year marking 70 years of military involvement.   The Elite Military force that is the SEALs are dedicated to persistence, precision and extreme and unconventional situations. Panerai creates its timepieces for the same mission – go all the way wherever possible.

The five newest watches include a 44mm Luminor Marina Navy SEALS (PAM01412) that is a re-edition of a legendary Panerai watch with a steel case known as the Brunito. The new version is crafted in steel with a PVD coating and an anthracite shaded dial with the inscription “Navy SEALS” on it. Additionally, the Navy SEALS logo is engraved on the case back. The watch is powered by a 200-piece automatic mechanical movement with three days of power reserve.  Water resistant to 300 meters, the watch offers hours, minutes and seconds Just 862 pieces will be made.

Two additional Luminor watches – chronographs – are also being offered – both with shaded black dials and the ‘Navy SEALs’ inscription.  One version (PAM01409) is a 44mm steel Brunito case, while the other (PAM01419) boasts a44mm CarboTech™ case (proprietary to the brand). The Luminor Chronograph Navy SEALS watch is e quipped with the automatic mechanical P.9200 movement with Incabloc ® anti-shock device and high-tech Glucydur® balance. It offers hours , minutes, small seconds, chronograph and a tachymeter scale for measuring speeds. Just 562 pieces will be made.

The CarboTech™ Ref. PAM01419 cis created in CarboTech™ treated with compressed materials under temperature control and high-pressure along with a high-end polymer, PEEK, material that makes it strong. It is powered by the same P.9200 caliber is the Brunito steel version. Both boast 42 hours of power reserve and are water resistant to 100 meters. The Carbotech™ version has a bezel of the same material and a titanium and DLC coated engraved case back. The case backs of both boast an engraved logo.  Exactly 462 pieces will be made.

There are also two new Submersible versions that echo the first collection unveiled but with important nuances. The PAM01323, the Submersible BiTempo Navy SEALs watch is powered   by the 171-part P.900/GMT movement s with central hour and minutes hand, small seconds dial at 9:00, date at 3:00 and GMT display of a second time zone.   The 44mm watch features a shaded grainy black dial that is darker at the perimeter and graduates lighter toward the center. The large dots  and accents in a golden yellow color make for legible night and underwater readability.

For those in the know about Panerai, the collection wouldn’t be complete without an “Xperience” watch.  The 47mm  PAM01402, the Experience Edition: Submersible Chrono Navy SEALs, is sold with the invitation to participate in an immersive thematic Special Operations Experience. The stee; Brunito case boasts a ceramic disk on the bezel and a rubber crown. The shaded black dial feature the Navy SEALs inscription and a target-inspired small seconds subsidiary dial. This watch is equipped with the328-part  automatic P.9100/R caliber  with a flyback chronograph function – which lets the wearer time events with a single push, as well as allowing for a countdown function. The watch boasts a high-tech balance and Incabloc® anti-shock device. Just 50 pieces will be made and each is sold with the experience.  For the first time ever, this limited edition Navy SEALs collection will be available internationally.
