Introducing – The New Delbana Rotonda Collection

This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Delbana watchmaking company, now merged with Delma and owned by the same family. In what is a celebratory year, we’ve seen the Delbana Recordmaster and Recordmaster II being presented as a pair of music-inspired, value proposition watches. While both those watches were limited to only 90 pieces each, the company had one more novelty waiting; the Delbana Rotonda.

The Delbana Rotonda shares a similar style to the Delbana Recordmaster, but is not directly taking inspiration from music records. It uses the same 40mm wide stainless steel case, which is again fully polished. At 11.5mm in height, it is a very reasonable size, one that fits most people easily. A domed sapphire crystal covers the dial, while a see-through caseback reveals the mechanical movement inside.

The dial for the Delbana Rotonda is a mix of black and white, much in vein of the Recordmaster. From the outside in, we see a minute track with vintage green luminous dots. One step inward we see applied polished hour digits for every even hour, and arrow-head shaped indices for every odd hour. The middle section is in black, with a subtle guilloché pattern engraved into it. A pair of cathedral hour and minute hands indicate the time, with a red arrow-tipped seconds hand. At 3 o’clock there’s a framed date window with a black on white disc underneath.

Power comes from the familiar Sellita SW 200 automatic movement, the same we saw in the Recordmaster and Recordmaster II. Running at a 4Hz frequency, it gives you 38 hours of running time when fully wound.

Just like the previous two models, the Delbana Rotonda is worn on a black patent leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle. It is priced at a very reasonable EUR 775. For more information, please visit Delbana.ch
