Say what you want about its commercial nature, but Valentine’s Day does allow us to celebrate the ones we love. Well, in the spirit of the Hallmark holiday, Robb Report has created a list of the most swoon-worthy watches celebrities wore this past week.
The Oscars Nominees Luncheon on Monday turned out to be a font of enviable wrist candy, with Ryan Gosling rocking a custom gold TAG Heuer Carrera, Robert Downey Jr. donning a sporty Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris, and Sterling K. Brown sporting a dazzling IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar. American Fiction duo Jeffrey Wright and Cord Jefferson also attended the event, wearing pieces by Omega and Panerai, respectively.
In addition, man of the moment Timothée Chalamet busted out another coveted Cartier watch at the Dune: Part 2 premiere in Paris and Fat Joe stepped out in a rare Rolex Day-Date with an Arabic dial.
Happy belated V-Day, folks.
Below are the best watch flexes of the week.

Sterling K. Brown: IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar
One IWC Portugieser just isn’t enough for Sterling K. Brown. The American Fiction star wore a hand-wound tourbillion to the Governors Awards in January, then a perpetual calendar to the Oscars Nominee lunch on Monday. The timepiece features a 44.2 mm white-gold case, a dazzling navy dial, and a black alligator strap by Santoni. Under the sapphire lies a beautiful blue dial with displays for the date, day, month, year, and perpetual moon phase. Powered by an automatic, self-winding movement (Caliber 52611), the watch offers a bonkers power reserve of seven days. It will also keep the correct day and date until the year 2100. The stunner will set you back $46,500.

Timothée Chalamet: Cartier Tank Cintrée
Another day, another Cartier watch for Timothée Chalamet. The French-American actor, who has been an ambassador of the Parisian jeweler since 2021, ditched his Panthère and Crash in favor of a Tank Cintrée for the premiere of Dune: Part 2 in Paris this week. Unveiled last year in honor of the model’s 100th anniversary, the limited edition features a 23 mm platinum case and an off-white dial with Cartier’s signature Roman numerals and chemin de fer minute track. The ruby-set crown distinguishes this reference from its 1920s platinum predecessors. Only 150 pieces were released, with a retail price of $38,500.

Robert Downey: Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph
Robert Downey Jr. is continuing to favor Jaeger-LeCoultre wrist candy this awards season. The Oppenheimer star wore a Reverso Tribute Chronograph to the Golden Globes and Polaris Chronograph to the Governors Awards in January. He wore the Polaris again at the Oscars Nominee lunch on Monday. Released last year, the chronograph features a 42 mm stainless steel case and a lacquered gray dial with an opaline internal bezel, a grained circle for the hours and indexes, and a sunray-brushed center. In addition, the dial has a minutes counter at 3 o’clock, a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, and a tachymeter scale on the outer ring. The chronograph is priced at $14,300.

Ryan Gosling: TAG Heuer Carrera
It’s kinda difficult to top wearing three TAG Heuer watches at once, but rocking a custom Carrera has to come pretty close. Ryan Gosling wore a unique version of the famous 1970s timepiece to the Oscars Nominee lunch on Monday. The piece is almost identical to the model the Swiss watchmaker released last October, with a 39 mm case in 18-karat 3N yellow gold and a matching gold dial. But Gosling’s piece has a “one-of-a-kind” gold Milanese bracelet that was “tailor-made” for him, according to TAG. The regular model comes with a leather strap and costs $21,500.
-
Cord Jefferson: Panerai Radiomir California
Cord Jefferson may be one of the lesser-known people on this list, but the American Fiction director wore a stand-out watch to the Oscars Nominee lunch on Monday. Released last year, the Panerai Radiomir California is the first such model to feature a 45 mm Brunito Steel case. (The California has been 47 mm up until this point.) Taking design cues from vintage “error-proof dials,” the elegant green face is—true to its name—adorned with alternating Roman and Arabic numerals, bar indexes, and a minute track. The watch is also fitted with a brown calf leather strap. It’ll set you back $12,300.

Fat Joe: Rolex Day-Date
Fat Joe wore a swoon-worthy Rolex Day-Date to the premiere of This Is Me…Now: A Love Story in Hollywood on Tuesday. This isn’t just any Day-Date, though: It’s one with coveted Eastern Arabic numerals on the face. Rolex began producing a limited number of 40 mm Day-Dates with Arabic dials for the Gulf elite in the 1950s but discontinued the practices in the ’70s. Middle Eastern collectors kept asking for the timepieces, though, so the Swiss watchmaker released an exclusive Day-Date featuring an ice-blue dial with Arabic numerals in 2016. Such examples routinely fetch more than $50,000 on the secondary market.

Jeffrey Wright: Omega Speedmaster
Jeffrey Wright knows that a black-tie dress code calls for a sleek black wristwatch. The American Fiction star wore a monochromatic riff on the Speedmaster that was released in 2015. The “Dark Side of the Moon” was aptly nicknamed “Black Black” on account of its colorway. The model features a 44.25 mm polished black ceramic case, a matt black ceramic dial, and a black nylon fabric strap with a black ceramic clasp. The subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock, hands, and indexes are all black, as is the bezel and tachymeter scale. The ultimate black-tie piece will set you back $12,800.
